Front Desk Supervisor is responsible for running the front lobby of an establishment, including welcoming visitors, taking their information and choosing the best room to fit their needs. Applicants must address problems guests have with their rooms, collect payments and settle the register at the end of the workday. Other duties include providing extra services ordered by guests, communicating with and instructing other employees and ensuring the lobby remains clean.
Responsibilities
1. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all policies/services/procedures and standards.
2. Be familiar with all hotel services, activities, hours of operation and local attractions to be able to answer any questions correctly.
3. Resolve guest opportunities using the service recovery model and ensuring satisfaction.
4. Ensure associates process all guest check-ins by confirming reservations, assigning rooms, and issuing and activating keys.
5. Ensure that associates process all types of payments made such as accommodation expenses and payments made in cash, checks, debit or credit cards. Intervene in the event that an associate faces problems with a payment method and/or non-payment.
6. Anticipate situations where room availability is exhausted and obtain satisfactory alternative accommodations in the event that the hotel is unable to accommodate guests with reservations.
7. Responsible for covering the food period of Front Desk associates.
8. Establish inventory levels for supplies and equipment. Make complete requests to replenish additional items necessary for the intended business.
9. Ensure that current information on rates, packages and promotions is available at the front desk and that all staff are aware and knowledgeable of such offers.

1 year of work experience as a Hotel Front Desk Supervisor
Experience with hotel reservations software, like Opera
Understanding of how travel planning websites operate, like Booking and TripAdvisor
Customer service attitude
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Degree in hotel management is a plus
