The Head of Underwriting will also be tasked with managing a team, refining underwriting policies, and making critical risk assessment decisions. Collaboration with senior management and other departments is essential to the role, as is staying updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to adapt underwriting practices.

Applicants for the Head of Underwriting position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with an advanced degree or professional certifications being preferred. A minimum of 10 years' of experience in life insurance underwriting, including at least 6 years in a leadership role, is required. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of life insurance products, underwriting principles, and regulatory requirements. Strong leadership, team management, analytical, and decision-making skills are essential. The role also demands excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with various stakeholders and to provide training and guidance to the underwriting team. The Head of Underwriting will be expected to monitor performance metrics, ensure compliance, and manage underwriting risks, as well as to prepare and present reports to senior management.
