Our client in the Greater Boston area is an autoimmune diagnostics company that uses cutting-edge technologies to provide accurate, reliable, and timely diagnostic information, empowering healthcare providers to make informed decisions and improve patient outcomes. They are looking for a Firmware Manager to join their core product team. This is a hybrid role in the greater Boston area.
In this role, you will be leading the firmware development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in embedded systems and firmware development, with a passion for advancing medical diagnostics technology. As a Firmware Manager, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and maintenance of firmware for our diagnostic devices, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
Required Skills & Experience Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in firmware development, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role. Strong proficiency in C/C++ and embedded systems programming. Experience with microcontrollers, RTOS, and hardware-software integration. Knowledge of communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN. Familiarity with diagnostic devices, medical standards, and regulatory requirements is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Desired Skills & Experience Experience with medical device regulations and standards (e.g., IEC 62304, ISO 13485) is a plus. Familiarity with FPGA programming and signal processing algorithms. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices in embedded systems.
