The successful candidate will be a key business partner, leading the drafting, review, and negotiation of a variety of commercial contracts, with a focus on revenue-generating agreements. This role is pivotal in supporting the company's high-growth goals and will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Information Security, Product, and Content. The ideal candidate will have a J.D. from a top law school, be admitted to practice law, and have at least 7 years' of experience in commercial contract law, particularly in the area of commercial software and technology subscription agreements. Experience in managing a team and a strong background in business acumen, client service, and legal risk management are essential.
The role requires a professional with superior negotiation skills, the ability to manage a high volume of commercial contracts, and a commitment to providing responsive client service. The Managing Counsel will also be responsible for growing and managing a team, creating and enhancing legal playbooks, and establishing processes to ensure the prompt attention of commercial contracts. Proficiency in contract management software and experience in information security, data privacy, intellectual property, or financial services are a plus. The ideal candidate will be energetic, authentic, and friendly, with a great sense of humor, and will be an effective communicator and relationship builder.
