About Us Leap's mission is to combat climate change by enabling a reliable electric grid that runs on clean energy. The electric grid is transforming from dirty (but predictable) fossil fuels to clean (but less predictable) renewable energy. To do so, the grid needs more flexible demand and supply to help maintain stability and reliability.
Leap plays a crucial role in opening up wholesale energy markets to all distributed energy resources, enabling our partners to get paid for providing flexibility to the grid. We are looking for a Market Revenue Manager to join our team!
Leap is a privately-held tech company with funding from top VCs and well-known energy entrepreneurs. Our core operations are in the San Francisco Bay Area and Utrecht (NL), but we are a distributed workplace with teammates based in Atlanta, Boston, Boulder, Chicago, Austin, and New York City.
Who are we looking for? Someone who… Values diverse, inclusive teams and creating an environment where people of all identities, experiences, and backgrounds can thrive. Embraces an environment where you'll be exposed to a variety of companies, business challenges, and tools/software. Thrives or would thrive in a remote-first, distributed work environment. Appreciates thinking about the "why" in addition to the "how." Here's what we hope you bring: Have 3-5 years of experience in wholesale energy markets, energy economics, energy trading, or energy management. Are familiar with recent trends in Demand Response and Distributed Energy Resources and programs. Are detail-oriented and possess strong analytical, data, and financial modeling skills. Love optimizing market strategies, continuously improving operations, and streamlining complex processes. Enjoy working collaboratively in a team with a diverse group of talented and fun people, but are also perfectly capable of working independently. Are hands-on and like to take ownership of complex work processes. Hold an advanced degree in business/finance, energy economics, energy engineering, or a related field. Experience is definitely a plus, but willingness to learn and innovate is a must. In this role you will: Develop and implement the strategies and processes required for participation in the ISO-NE and other wholesale electricity markets, as well as state and utility-run programs such as MA Clean Peak Standard and Connected Solutions. Build and manage financial revenue models for your respective markets/programs; prepare monthly accruals, forecasts, and reconciliations to actuals; and coordinate on monthly partner payment activities. Engage with external stakeholders such as state regulators, program administrators, and Leap's customers. Based on your expertise and participation in the above, develop short and mid-term market strategies that help Leap achieve growth in its customer base and revenue in your respective markets/programs. Drive cross-functional coordination with Leap's other internal teams to achieve Leap's growth and revenue targets in your respective markets and as a company as a whole. Don't meet every single requirement? Studies have shown that women and people of color are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every single qualification. We are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace, so if you're excited about this role but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
