Description Summary:
The Mortgage Loan Officer develops profitable and quality residential mortgages by building personal relationships with community members and clients. Evaluates and assesses credit potential with prospective customers. Analyzes customer personal financial information to determine which products meet their needs and to provide recommendations regarding products to customers. Advises and counsels the customer to the advantages and disadvantages of differing financial products. Advises customers on the completion of loan applications and provides excellent customer service throughout the loan approval and closing process. Keeps up to date on lending policies/regulations pricing and product information. Cross sells customers. NOTE: This position is considered to be a Mortgage Loan Originator under the SAFE Act and Loan Originator under the Truth in Lending Act. Registration and additional qualifications required.
Duties & Responsibilities: The Mortgage Loan Officer position provides Simply the Best customer service to each customer at all times. Responsibilities include using internal and external referral sources to develop mortgage loan business; builds and maintains business relationships within the community.The associate in this position:Develops new and expands internal and external referral sources to grow mortgage businessUsing consultative selling techniques, advises clients on mortgage loan options and other financial products.Provides excellent customer service from approval through closing, working closely with loan origination sources to secure and verify all information required for underwriting.Responsible for maintaining client relationships.Advises customers on the completion of loan applications.Performs other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: High school diploma or GEDOne or more years of mortgage loan origination experience, preferably at a bankNMLS license Preferred Qualifications: Pipeline and book of businessBachelor's degree preferredKnowledge of mortgage loan products (conventional, FHA/VA, construction lending and portfolio programs)Knowledge of mortgage procedures, documentation, and underwriting guidelinesDemonstrated ability to identify opportunities to cross-sell financial products and servicesEffective written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills •Ability to multi-taskPC - Internet skill
