Part-time What You Will Do Assess, develop, implement and evaluate Music Therapy interventions to address the age-specific psychosocial and physiological needs of hospitalized adults and their families 40% Plan and implement music therapy groups for inpatients/outpatients/staff 40% Mentor practicum students/volunteers as appropriate 5% Professional growth, information sharing and collaboration 10% Create and implement innovative ways to expand visibility, research, accountability in the music therapy profession 5% Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. Qualifications: Education Bachelor's Degree In Music Therapy (pending completion of internship) (Required) or Master's Degree In Music Therapy (pending completion of internship) (Required) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Demonstrate competence with a variety of musical instruments and skills, i.e., transposition, improvisation, song writing, instrumental/vocal arranging, Orff, Dalcroze, Eurhythmics, drumming, and adapting instruments and therapeutic music interventions to a variety of culturally, ethnically, racially diverse, medically, developmentally and physiologically impaired patients. (Required proficiency) Knowledge of research design and methodology, patient assessment and evaluation techniques. (Required proficiency) Strong interest in multi-disciplinary team approach. (Required proficiency) Completion of a minimum of 100 hours of music therapy practicum.
