The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a National Sr. Manager, Policy Research. The Voices for Healthy Kids National Sr. Director, Policy Research will lead the policy development, research technical assistance, and evaluation efforts for the initiative. Responsible for centering the initiative's research efforts in racial justice and equity, including research partnerships with volunteer committees. Also responsible for providing scientific guidance and direction to internal and external science staff and volunteers relating to activities in public policy related to children's health, beginning prenatally. Responsible for consulting on various science aspects of public health and professional programs, publications and digital communications with health and science. The role will demonstrate the American Heart Association's commitment to supporting the child health movement by strengthening collaborations with internal American Heart Association's departments.
Responsibilities Directs, guides and collaborates with science volunteers within American Heart Association's and the National Collaborative for Infants and Toddlers to build or contribute to the production of Voices/American Heart Association science documents, programs, and activities which contribute to achieving Voices Mission.Maintains proficiency of cardiovascular and child health knowledge through reading science literature, establishing and maintaining professional consultation contacts, attending meetings, monitoring legislation, and attending to inquiries from public and professionals.Center Voices research and policy in equity and expand research partnerships to be diverse and inclusive.Writes and edits science-related materials for Voices/American Heart Association professional channels and coordinates science reviews for Voices staff and grantees.Demonstrates leadership through participation in the Voices management team and building culture for Voices.Qualifications Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.5 years minimum prior relevant experience and at least 3 years of supervisory experience.Experience in: Coaching Others; Compliance Management; Compliance Risk Assessment; Coordination; Corporate Communications; Effective Communication; Government Relations; Industry Knowledge; Leadership; Planning and Organizing; Project Management; Regulatory Affairs; Regulatory Analysis; Regulatory Compliance; Regulatory Environment; Relationship Building; Team Management and Team Building.Compensation Expected pay range will be $110,000 - $121,000. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply.
