Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various areas of law, including immigration law, workers' compensation law, and environmental law. This role requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage documents efficiently, and proficiency in legal research tools such as Lexis-Nexis. The Paralegal will support attorneys by preparing legal documents, conducting research, and ensuring compliance with tribal law regulations.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in preparing for trials and hearings by organizing case files and evidence.
- Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents including contracts, pleadings, and motions.
- Conduct legal research on relevant laws and regulations using tools such as Lexis-Nexis.
- Manage case files and maintain document management systems to ensure easy access to information.
- Communicate with clients to gather information and provide updates on case progress.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, particularly in immigration and environmental matters.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline administrative processes within the office.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a legal setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of immigration law, workers' compensation law, environmental law, and tribal law regulations is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in document management systems and legal research tools such as Lexis-Nexis.
- Strong administrative skills with an emphasis on organization and attention to detail.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents.
- Proven proofreading abilities to ensure accuracy in all written materials.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment.
