Payroll Clerk

Responsible to process the hourly, salary and administrative payrolls. Maintain custody and control over the petty cash system.
1. Gathers and audits all data required to prepare, and disburse the hourly and salary payroll.
2. Maintains and files all payroll records for the purpose of accounting and disbursement control.
3. Audits the hourly job tickets to insure accurate time recording to the proper inventory or salary accounts that measures work performance.
4. Maintains accurate attendance records to assure employees are paid according to the established policy.
5. Evaluates special payroll problems of individuals as they relate to company policy to insure that payment to employees is made in accordance with law requirements.
6. Prepares and maintains changes to hourly, salary and administrative wage information in the HR and manufacturing systems provided.
7. Reconciles the payroll system records with the applicable tax reports.
8. Prepares journal entries to record loans and other accounts including commissions.
9. Monitors payrolls for garnishments and child support as directed by courts.
10. Reviews governmental regulation for proper tax withholding and reporting.
Knowledge and Experience:
· Associate Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience
· Computer knowledge and expertise: including Microsoft Office.
· Good communication, written and verbal, ability to work under pressure.
· Excellent organization skills.
· Two or more years of experience in the same position.
