The Sleep Lab Technologist is responsible for the following: Prepares patients and equipment for procedures. Obtains medical history from patients/families to identify and meet patient-specific needs. (e.g., physical/mental limitations, current physiological status regarding the testing procedure). Reviews procedure request provided by ordering physician and complies with all standard lab protocols. Performs polysomnograms according to hospital and laboratory standards and protocols; routine and specialized PSG, and other specialized procedures to meet the procedure request/goals of the study. Perform routine and complex equipment care and maintenance, troubleshoots technical problems with equipment, and coordinate repairs as needed with appropriate personnel. Keeps equipment clean and in proper working order. Attend monthly technical staff meetings providing professional input for the development of procedures and protocols for the Center. Participate in professional meetings on a local, regional, and national basis. The Sleep Lab Technologist must have the following:
