The successful candidate will work with a talented and passionate team, as well as a dedicated Board of Directors, to shape the future of global carbon markets and demonstrate the power of market-based solutions in addressing this critical issue. This executive role is pivotal in guiding the strategic direction of the organization, fostering innovation, and contributing to the development of impactful climate solutions. The President will be responsible for defining and communicating the organization's mission, vision, and goals, refining and implementing strategic business plans, and ensuring the financial stability of the organization.
The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for the environment and a deep commitment to the mission and goals of the organization. They should possess a trailblazing spirit, with a proven track record of executive leadership, management, and securing funding in the nonprofit, government, or business sector. A clear understanding of climate change science and policy, GHG accounting, and carbon markets is essential, with specific experience in the global voluntary carbon market. The role requires a collaborative leadership style, the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, and a strong network of relationships with policymakers and government officials. A background in environmental science, public policy, economics, or a related field is required, and an advanced degree is preferred. The candidate should also demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and be prepared to travel nationally and internationally as needed.
