Procurement Manager.
In this role, you will be responsible for proactively managing and leading the procurement team to ensure that the purchasing needs of the business are met. A significant focus of this role is coordinating the activities of the team to achieve requirements and ensuring that the team and all areas of the business adhere to the correct procurement practices.
Leveraging on your previous experience you will be able to apply your expert knowledge of procurement management requirements and exercise a high level of business acumen to ensure effective development and implementation of customer-focused, risk-managed solutions to achieve competitive advantage.
This individual can sit at any Collins domestic location or remote (
Puerto Rico or USA)
Position is remote; however, if you live within a reasonable commute of a Collins site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.
What YOU will do:
Develop and execute supply chain strategies and plans
Monitor and plan correct supplier deliveries and expedites for your commodities to ensure timely resolution of problems such as shortages and late deliveries
Reviews, analyze, manages and presents weekly/monthly procurement metrics for your team and track/establish effective measures of performance and metrics where needed.
Ensure members of the team have the correct knowledge and skills to perform assigned purchasing tasks and provide on the job training and support to address skill and knowledge gaps.
Support team members to work with stakeholders and subject matter experts to clarify, define, and refine the scope of supply, purchasing requirements, and recovery/performance management.
Manage compliance with procurement process and ensure all required approvals are in place prior to purchase order release.
Engage to address identified conflicts and/or risks with supply.
Support vendor engagement activities including negotiations and supplier performance management where appropriate.
Communicates with cross-functional disciplines for alignment, resolution and process improvement efforts.
Audits and approves next level purchase orders.
First line of escalation for supplier issues or problems.

Qualifications you must have:
Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
3+ years of experience in a buyer, purchasing or direct procurement role.
This position will require availability to travel when required.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Demonstrated experience in procurement activities and the management of internal customer and supplier relationships.
Demonstrated experience in working with cross-functional teams (Finance, Program Management, Engineering, etc).
Experience communicating and presenting to all levels of Management.
Demonstrated experience in the management of a geographically dispersed team and the ability to influence parties at an operational level to achieve objectives within a compliance framework.
Contract negotiation is preferred.
Experience in commodity organization.
SAP knowledge and demonstrated usage.
Aerospace industry experience is a plus.
Experience in continuous improvement methodologies.
