Project Manager - Highway Location: Ohio Resident (Columbus, OH hybrid or on-site preferred)
RINA, formerly known as Patrick Engineering, is seeking a Project Manager - Highway to join our growing Infrastructure & Mobility presence in Ohio. This is an amazing opportunity to be a critical member of a regional design team as it expands nationally. The position is intended to focus primarily on Ohio projects, but future opportunities in adjacent states may be available.
Job Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for understanding the complex set of relationships among the client, RINA, staff, contractors, and subcontractors associated with the various elements of project delivery. Projects include design and management of ODOT, county, and local municipalities ranging from a budget of $250,000 - $2 million (Design fee only).
The Project Manager will interface with clients, lead the design team in the development and delivery of the project deliverables within the budget parameters, ensure the design development follows RINA's quality control process and manage the design delivery schedule with the client's expectations. The candidate must understand how to compile deliverable documents in compliance with ODOT procedures and expectations.
Primary Responsibilities Lead technical project proposal efforts, including writing the project understanding and technical approach Define (In collaboration with the Owner/Client) the project's purpose, scope of work, deliverables and level of effort Develop the project schedule in association with the Client's needs and expectations for the project Develop staffing plans and forecast the level of effort required for the team to complete design deliverables Monitor the team's work ensuring compliance with the scope of the Contract Monitor the team's level of effort relative to the Contract's budget Monitor the Team's work progression compared to the established project schedule. Maintain an organized project file documentation Document critical project decisions, design development, client interactions and other factors they may impact scope, schedule, budget Understand and adhere to internal and industry best practice processes and procedures as related to the project management Facilitate the development of solutions to technical problems associated with the project Communicate with the owner/client regarding the project's status on a regular basis Communicate with other engineers and support staff during assignments, studies, and plan preparation for conformance to standards and code requirements Demonstrate technical and professional engineering skills commensurate with years of experience Demonstrate a proactive, collaborative approach with project team members, client representatives, subconsultants, contractors, review agencies and others as appropriate for the project Professional Requirements Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent 10+ years of relevant engineering experience, including 5+ years in project management Ohio Professional Engineering (PE) License Ability to build a rapport and maintain solid relationships with clients. Strong Microsoft Office skills Effective technical written and verbal communications skills with the ability to clearly communicate concepts and ideas Experience managing Ohio DOT projects, strongly preferred Involvement in various industry societies preferred Additional Requirements Ability to travel in and around OH based on business needs. Valid Driver's license
