Job Title: Purchasing Agent
Location: San Ramon, CA (Onsite, Monday - Friday)
Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 (including discretionary bonus of up to 25%)
Position Overview:
Vaco is seeking a motivated Purchasing Agent to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will manage the bidding process, maintain project budgets, and ensure accurate pricing and contract management. Experience in the home construction industry is preferred, but we will also consider candidates with relevant experience in fields like siding, roofing, HVAC, or restoration.
Key Responsibilities: Solicit and manage bids for new projectsPre-qualify subcontractorsSet up and monitor option costs and sales pricesMaintain and update project budgetsReview and approve bid revisions, including price increasesPrepare and analyze direct cost variancesInput and manage original direct cost budgetsExecute lot starts and verify all unit costsMaintain accurate pricing and ensure contracts are correctly uploaded into the systemBuild and maintain relationships with vendors, negotiating labor and material costs effectively Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university OR equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience: 1-2 years of related experience in purchasing, construction, or a similar fieldSkills:Strong communication and negotiation skillsExperience with budgeting and cost analysisFamiliarity with purchasing or procurement processesDetail-oriented with strong organizational skillsProficient in Excel for daily use
