REQUIREMENTS:
Fully Bilingual - English and Spanish.
Strong oral and written communication skills - English and Spanish.
Strong computer skills and must be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, etc..
Excellent management skills
Must be highly organized.
Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability using initiative and judgment in dealing with workflow and uncertain situation; working effectively under strict time limitation to produce accurate results.
Ability to build solid vendor relationships.
2-3 years of experience in buying freights and purchasing services
SPECIFIC RESPONSABILITIES
Responsible for results of the purchasing department.
Supervises personnel assigned to purchasing department. Enforces SOP and Job Description compliance.
Organizes and distributes work to personnel.
Monitors the general conduct of purchasing operations for maximum efficiency.
Evaluate contracts based on profitability keeping in mind quality aspects. (Evaluate freight and other costs and quality of services.)
Interview industry sources to remain continually up dated on new services, and to identify prospective suppliers.
Identifies and engage in negotiation with new supplies other than ocean carriers thru Latin-American. (Depots, Wash Racks, Terminals).
Negotiates contracts and formulates policies with suppliers.
Ensures that appropriate rate levels are maintained.
Responsible for the maintenance of files for contracted rates and tariffs.
Responsible for the resolution of Purchase Orders classified as Credit.
Supervise, manage and ensure the correct execution of the whole supply chain of the company, in order to complete the startup, in the timeframe and quality necessary, of any new or redesigned business which needs special requirements.
Responsible to ensure the execution of the Purchasing team in the timeframe and quality needed for each request.
Development certain projects based on the operational and commercial needs.
