Responsibilities:
Ensures exceptional guest experiences through outstanding service and an exquisite wine program.
Handles guest inquiries, concerns, and feedback with professionalism and a commitment to satisfaction.
Maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Collaborates with kitchen and front of house staff to ensure smooth communication and service flow.
Develops beverage programs within the parameters of the restaurant agreements.
Maintains cleanliness and sanitation levels to Health Department requirements.
Curates and maintains an extensive and diverse wine list, ensuring selections complement the menu and appeal to guests.
Provides expert wine recommendations and pairings, enhancing the dining experience.
Conducts staff training sessions on wine knowledge and service techniques.
Manages wine inventory, including ordering, receiving, and proper storage.
Hosts wine tastings and special events to engage guests and promote wine sales.
Stays updated on industry trends, emerging wines, and new producers to keep the wine program innovative and exciting.
Complete safety training and certifications.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support the team to reach common goals, listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Sommelier in a fine dining setting. Minimum of 4 years of Fine Dining experience
Certified Sommelier designation preferred
Deep knowledge of wine regions, varieties, and food pairings
Must have refined skills in public relations
Strong leadership skills
Must have computer skills (Excel/Word/PowerPoint)
Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and follow-up skills
Restaurant background a must
Must have knowledge of POS Systems
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Fully Bilingual (Spanish/English)
