Job Description: Thorough knowledge of anesthesia types, including General, Regional, Local, and Moderate Sedation Has knowledge of the nursing process including assessment, intervention, and management of patient care Able to provide anesthesia to geriatric patients, adults, adolescents, and youth age patients. Occasionally might be required to provide anesthesia for younger patients. Demonstrates strong, accurate decision making capabilities. Able to administer anesthesia and anesthesia related care: Pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation Anesthesia induction, maintenance and emergence Post anesthesia care Per-anesthetic and clinical support functions Responds to emergency situations by providing airway management, administration of fluids and drugs, using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques. Able to provide consultation when needed for higher risk patients Knowledgeable of ASA classification system. IV therapies, and all required medications, including right routes, sites, and proper administration. Documents all therapies accurately, timely, and thoroughly. Able to maintain and operated equipment and supplies correctly and safely: Anesthesia machine, ventilator C02 monitors Vital sign machines Doppler Defibrillator EKG monitor ET tubes and stylets Esophageal Thermometers Laryngoscope and blades. LMAs Different types of oxygen delivery systems Knowledgeable regarding different positions for specific procedures Able to provide anesthesia for Endoscopy procedures, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, and eye surgery.
