Job Description
The
Safety Compliance Officer
reviews the contractor safety plans to ensure completeness and compliance with the necessary requirements.
Facilitates the construction risk assessment exercise.
Evaluates if mitigation identified during risk assessment are included in the safety plan.
Performs field compliance inspections of construction activities as required to ensure compliance with EHS requirements.
Reviews construction Pre-Work Plans/Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) submitted by contractors to ensure completeness and alignment with site EHS programs.
Reviews Safety Plans and provides guidance on Pre-Work Plans/JHA's development, including hazards identification and proposed control measures.
Performs as construction Risk Assessment Facilitator for completion of this analysis in projects.
Provides Safety Induction Training for contractor employees.
Reviews and acknowledgement of pre-work safety planning documents (e.g., JHA's, Rigging Plans, Excavation Plans, etc.) for all contractor related activities.
Performs field inspections to identify violations to safety plan requirements or established EHS practices, at risk behaviors or conditions, construction waste situations.
Escalates reporting of any incidents or potential incidents learned by direct observation or as notified by another person.
Supports incident investigations to determine causes and corrective action alternatives.
Other tasks as assigned by the Contractor EHS Program Manager.
Qualifications

Communication: Displays good written and oral communication skills and employs effective listening skills (English and Spanish).
Problem Solving: Analyzes situations and makes sound recommendations on time to facilitate management decisions.
Interpersonal Skills: Tactful and mature demeanor with well good ability to work well with diverse personalities.
Education and Experience:
Master's degree in Sciences/Engineering or
Bachelor's degree in Sciences/Engineering, 2 years of directly related experience, and at least 5 years' experience in construction activities field
OSHA 30 hr. Construction Safety Certificate is required
Knowledge of OSHA Construction Industry Regulations (30-hr OSHA Training or equivalent)
