Arcadian is seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to optimize and oversee our environmental and safety programs for our growing organization. This candidate will design and implement procedures and processes to ensure state and federal compliance with health and safety laws in the workplace. Serve as the main point of contact and partner in providing guidance on implementing and maintaining safe practices on all job sites for Arcadian.
Overview of Responsibilities Develop and promote a positive safety culture within the organization. Integrate safety into every activity and daily task when needed. Conduct safety awareness campaigns, organize regular safety meetings, and develop safety recognition and engagement opportunities to incentivize safe behaviors. Ensure the company and all job sites comply with state and federal regulations. Develop programs and procedures to ensure compliance and maintain ongoing health and safety for employees, vendors, and contractors. Partner with Network and Construction managers to ensure compliance with all CAL OSHA regulations in accordance with the California Code of Regulations, Title 8, Construction Safety orders, and General Industry Safety Orders. Develop and implement emergency procedures covering various emergency drills and conducting regular ones.Manage and maintain the organization's personal protective equipment (PPE) program, including supplies, budgets, maintenance of the equipment program, and PPE availability to employees.Partner with key stakeholders such as Human Resources and IT to provide ongoing mandatory training for current and new employees as needed; produce reporting on a monthly / as-needed basis to certify compliance to established safety standards. Plan and travel to conduct regular health and safety audits and inspections across locations and job sites to identify potential hazards or risks. Conduct investigations into all safety-related accidents and near misses within the company and develop corrective measures to prevent future incidents. Manage OSHA Form 300 logs for Arcadian employees across all locations.Manage HAZCOM and environmental safety standard compliance. Required Skills Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Management, or similar preferred. Active OSHA certification in General Industry with Construction emphasis preferred.Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and external and internal stakeholders.Familiar with construction operations in State Highway and Interstate environments and the associated safety standards for the environmentMinimum of three years of experience working with CAL OSHA programs.Proven ability to develop workplace policy and procedures under state and federal compliance required. Experience presenting data specific to safety compliance to senior leadership teams required.Self-motivated and possess the ability to work on multiple initiatives independently. Strong problem-solving, influencing, and collaboration skills. Ability to independently utilize software applications such as Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, or similar).
