Seasonal Grain Operations

Job Type TemporaryDescriptionRESPONSIBILITIES:Handle incoming/outgoing grain by unloading/loading trucksWeigh, sample, and test grain for quality purposesAssist in the general maintenance and housekeeping of grain facilities and the yard(s) to keep things neat and clean. Notify supervisor of any safety concernsLoad train shuttle carsTransport grain off farms and complete local grain deliveries as requested by supervisorObserve OSHA, State, and Federal safety regulationsMonitor and maintain quality of grain inventoryGeneral maintenance of grain handling equipmentProvide excellent customer service and assist patronsWill assist other departments and cooperative locations as neededAdditional duties may be assigned by managementBASIC REQUIREMENTS:High school diplomaMust have or be able to obtain Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, and be an insurable driverMust be able to pass DOT required physical and related drug testAbility to operate tractors, semi's, grain trucks, loaders, and conveyorsAvailability to work extended hours during peak seasonsComputer and data entry skillsMust be able to follow directions and effectively communicate with othersAgriculture background preferred but not requiredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAbility to lift 75lbs., climb ladders and/or rail cars, stairs, and binsMay also be required to work in confined spacesMust be able to work in grain dust and during inclement weatherMust be able to perform all physical requirements of the position
