The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of legal matters, including ERISA governed claims, non-ERISA claims, and class action cases. This role involves developing and executing litigation strategies, retaining and managing outside counsel, and actively participating in all aspects of the litigation process. The Senior Counsel will also be expected to counsel business clients on legal issues, provide training, and work with business lawyers to offer risk management counseling.
Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years' of litigation practice experience, with a preference for those with a background in commercial litigation, group benefits, and/or ERISA litigation. A Juris Doctorate is required, and a CT Bar license is preferred. The ideal candidate will have superior analytical and critical thinking skills, strong communication abilities, and a collaborative, team-oriented work style. An entrepreneurial mindset, effective decision-making skills, and excellent legal judgment are also essential. Regulatory experience is a plus, and the role may require up to 10% travel.
