The successful candidate will be a critical member of a center of excellence and will provide specialized legal and regulatory expertise to support these complex financial strategies. This role involves advising on a range of mechanisms, including captives, structured insurance solutions, and insurance-linked securities, as well as evaluating the legal and regulatory implications of these structures. The Senior Counsel will also be responsible for reviewing and negotiating reinsurance and fronting agreements, addressing legal and regulatory issues, and providing guidance on the establishment and governance of reinsurance entities and captive insurers.
Applicants for the Senior Counsel position should have a Juris Doctorate from an American Bar Association-accredited law school and typically have 15 or more years of relevant legal experience. The role requires a candidate with a strong background in various areas of insurance, reinsurance, and risk management, and familiarity with a wide range of insurance products. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter authority within their areas of legal expertise, possess strong analytical and decision-making abilities, and have a proven track record of providing expert legal counsel on highly complex matters. The position demands a professional with the skills to lead cross-functional projects, initiate and coordinate highly complex cases, and engage in negotiations that are strategic or sensitive in nature.
