Title: Senior Accountant Location: Dallas, Texas or Boston, MA (3 days a week in office) The Senior Accountant applies principles of accounting (GAAP and IFRS / International Accounting Standards) to maintain general accounting records and ensures assigned General Ledger tasks are accomplished, including accounts reconciliations, inter-company transactions, and month-end invoicing. This position will provide documentation requested from internal or external auditors, assist in the implementation of streamlined operational and financial controls, and accounting policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities: Maintain project commitments ensuring proper accounting treatment for all projects. Support each project with requested reporting and forecasting as necessary. Ensure month-end invoicing and accruals are recorded properly. Prepare intercompany invoicing.Maintain the general ledger by setting up and reviewing recurring entries, importing journals from third parties or sub-ledgers, defining and running allocations, and setting up new segment values in the chart of accounts. Maintain cross-validation rules. Enter accounts payable invoices and create accounts payable disbursements.Perform journal entries and reconciliations for assigned accounts, provisions, and accruals. Verify that transactions are properly supported, in accordance with pertinent policies, and are classified and recorded according to acceptable accounting standards.Coordinate and manage the month-end close process. Ensure entries are completed timely, review pre-close balance sheet and income statement for completeness, process eliminating and consolidating entries.Review and approve purchase requisitions submitted from the business for completeness and accuracy (account and project).Compile and analyze financial information to interpret and communicate current and projected company financial results to management.Prepare financial analytics, reconciliations, and commentary for KPMG audit and internal audit requests related to cash, inter-company invoicing and reconciliation, accruals, and prepaid.Review and enforce related internal controls and coordinate resolution of audit points and recommendations.Support project managers, maintain project commitments, and calculate monthly project accruals. Manage merchant payment processing, assist in review and documenting internal control processes.Develop nonstandard reports and statements, some of which may involve presentation and analysis, preparing charts, tables, and other exhibits to be used in reports.Other duties as assigned.Preferred Skills and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, required.Minimum seven years of experience in an Accounting or similar role within a corporate environment.Ability to demonstrate overall knowledge of General Accounting practices and principles with strong organizational and reconciliation skills.Proficiency with MS Office and report writing software; strong proficiency in Excel.Experience with Oracle Financials, preferred.Familiar with financial analysis and forecasting, preferred.Experienced in the monthly close process and operating expense analysis.Ability to work within a team environment and/or independently as needed; adapt to change quickly (high flexibility); high personal motivation; ability to work with minimal supervision.Ability to demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills with a proven track record of the ability to resolve disputes and conflicts quickly and effectively.What We Offer in Return:
