The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the fundraising strategy, including annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, and donor relations. This role is pivotal in supporting the organization's mission to provide life necessities, education, and advocacy to help families achieve self-sufficiency. The SVP of Advancement will be a key member of the leadership team, demonstrating thought leadership, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, and will be expected to spark a passion for the organization's work among donors.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fundraising, with a focus on philanthropy, and will be adept at implementing best-practice strategies to significantly increase philanthropic results. Major responsibilities include the development and implementation of a comprehensive fundraising program, the recruitment and mentorship of a high-performing team, and the cultivation of relationships with both public and private donors. The role also involves working closely with the marketing and communications team to ensure that the impact of the organization's work is effectively communicated to supporters.
Preferred qualifications for this role include several years of fundraising experience in a non-profit, university, or hospital setting, as well as a strong understanding and commitment to human services. The candidate should have a proven track record in managing and leading a team, and must be able to attend and present at Board of Trustees meetings. The Senior Vice President of Advancement will be instrumental in advancing the mission of the organization and must be prepared to immerse themselves in the work of the company, supporting its vision of a just, equitable, and compassionate society.
