**SIMON | Transport Driver-Cheyenne, WY**
Operates a commercial vehicle to transport vehicles, tooling, and heavy equipment to job locations; performs other related duties as assigned in support of material production and construction operations.
*Highly qualified candidates will have experience operating water trucks, tandem trailers, belly dump trailers, side dump trailers, and transport trailers. This would be a great opportunity to cross train on multiple types of equipment. ****Responsibilities:****
Support the Simon safety culture and other Company strategic initiatives
Perform pre- and post-trip safety inspections on truck to ensure safe operation of vehicle
Document and report required maintenance and/or repair to maintenance team
Follow procedures for safe operation of vehicle, including securing cargo before, during, and after transit, and positioning blocks as required
Maintain a clean vehicle, including vehicle exterior and interior of operator cab
Safely operate assigned vehicle(s); may be required to operate multiple types of vehicles and vehicle/trailer combinations in support of operations
Adhere to all OSHA, FMCSA, and other industry regulations, company safety policies, and general rules of the road
Assist in loading and unloading of materials in truck bed
Prepare bill of lading and/or similar documentation for loads transported
Maintain accurate documentation related to job assignments as required by the Company
Maintain regular contact with supervisor to receive pick-up and delivery instructions
Maintain driver logs according to state and federal regulations
Perform other projects and duties related to role as assigned
****Qualifications, Education, Skills and Experience:****
2 or more years of experience operating a commercial motor vehicle required; prior experience in construction and/or aggregate materials manufacturing preferred
Prior experience securing and hauling heavy and oversize loads preferred; experience operating multiple types of vehicles/combinations highly preferred
Prior experience operating various types heavy industrial and/or construction equipment preferred
Class A CDL with endorsements and valid medical card
Ability to maintain a clean driving record and compliance with applicable FMCSA CDL driver requirements
Ability to interact professionally with internal and external customers and other team members
Ability to read and write, and understand basic documents
****Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:****
Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
Occasionally required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds
Required to work from a seated position driving a commercial vehicle for long periods
Regularly required to climb in and out of vehicles and/or equipment
Regularly required to use hands to handle and manipulate objects, including vehicle components, and secure hoses, chains, and/or couplings
Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Regularly required to stand and walk across uneven terrain
Frequent exposure to loud noise
Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles; exposure to high temperatures
Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals
Occasional travel with overnight stays away from home may be required
