STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER
The Strategic Communications Manager is responsible for crafting and implementing comprehensive communication strategies that effectively convey the organization's mission, values, and objectives. This role involves assisting the Integrated Communications leadership with internal and external communications, digital platforms, managing media relations, and ensuring consistent messaging across all channels.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
3+ years of experience in strategic communications, public relations, or a similar role.
Proven track record in developing and implementing successful communication strategies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, persuasive, and engaging content in Spanish and English.
Strong understanding of media relations and experience managing media inquiries.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms, including social media and content management systems.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute strategic communication plans that support organizational goals and enhance brand reputation.
Identify key messages and target audiences to tailor communications effectively.
Create, edit, distribute, and ensure the quality of all written and multimedia content through institutional channels and external outlets.
Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all communication channels.
Develop a social media calendar and coordinate videos and photos with contractors.
Work closely with the social media agency and internal units to ensure compliance with the institutional Social Media Policy.
Monitor media channels for comments, messages, and mentions, and respond promptly and appropriately to engage with followers and address inquiries.
Coordinate with contributors and oversee the development of weekly stories for digital platforms (e.g., inSagrado) to highlight campus life, student and faculty projects, and achievements.
Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, prepare press releases, and manage media inquiries.
Coordinate and prepare spokespeople for interviews and public appearances.
Assist with the development and implementation of crisis communication plans to manage and mitigate potential reputational risks.
Engage with key stakeholders, including employees, customers, and partners, to gather feedback and enhance communication strategies.
Organize and oversee events, briefings, and presentations.
Provide recommendations regarding trends, opportunities, and content optimization efforts.
Track and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns.
Prepare reports on communication metrics and provide insights for continuous improvement.
