About Sankofa Montessori
Sankofa Montessori, Georgia's only School Commission-approved K-6 Public Montessori Charter School, is seeking a dedicated professional for a 6-week temporary assignment as a Student Culture and Discipline Associate. This role is essential in maintaining a supportive and disciplined school environment during a team member's paternity leave.

Contract Time: 10/7/24 to 12/20/24
Hours: Monday-Friday: 7:15 AM-4:15 PM
Role Summary
The Temporary Student Culture and Discipline Associate will be responsible for supporting discipline administration, providing first-response support to classrooms with elevated behavior concerns, guiding students, and implementing interventions for students on your caseload. This role requires close collaboration with students, teachers, and parents to ensure that discipline and behavior management practices align with our school's values. This role will report to the Director of Student Support and Culture.
Key Responsibilities Discipline Administration: Implement and enforce school policies related to behavior and discipline. Maintain a fair and consistent disciplinary system that aligns with the school's objectives. Address and resolve disciplinary issues promptly, working closely with students, teachers, and parents. Communicate effectively with parents regarding student conduct, disciplinary actions, and improvement strategies. First Response to Classrooms: Serve as the first point of contact for classrooms experiencing elevated disciplinary concerns. Provide immediate support to teachers and students to de-escalate situations and restore a positive classroom environment. Student Guidance: Offer guidance and mentorship to students facing behavioral challenges, promoting positive behavior and character development. Implement targeted interventions for students identified on your caseload to support their growth and development. Requirements
High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
At least 2 years of experience as a culture associate, paraprofessional, or in a similar school role. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively and respond swiftly in a dynamic school environment. Physical ability to meet the demands of the role, including standing and walking for extended periods and lifting up to 40 lbs. Commitment to Sankofa Montessori's mission and values. This temporary role offers competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications. This role pays between $20-$25 per hour. This role does not offer benefits.
