**Transportation Program Coordinator**
**Transportation Department - Allegan, MI - Full Time**
**Job Summary:**
The Program Coordinator assists in planning, organizing, directing and coordinating the activities of public transit. This Coordinator works with other community development divisions, city departments, and county, regional, state and federal organizations. Also coordinates the development and implementation of studies, plans, policies, and projects to improve and protect the transportation system.
**Starting Wage:** $22.92 per hour, full-time, with excellent benefits.
**Responsibilities and Duties:**
- Plans, schedules, prioritizes, analyzes, and summarizes data for assigned planning projects and activities.
- Presents status and recommendations on policy issues, projects and activities. Facilitates interdepartmental and outside agency coordination.
- Prepares quarterly and annual agency reports. Prepares annual grant application, program, and budget.
- Determines operational budget and capital needs of department for annual grant application through analyzing data of systems and policies.
- Serves as a technical expert for complex transportation studies/issues, and provides transportation planning and advice to department personnel and other County departments.
- Reviews federal, state and regional statutes, and proposed legislation and regulations pertaining to transportation. Determines appropriate equipment, vehicle and supply needs as it relates to State, Federal and local procurement compliance.
- Represents Allegan County Transportation in various inter-governmental activities and venues related to transportation.
- Responds to citizen inquiries by explaining policies and/or investigating issues, and coordinates and implements citizen involvement activities regarding Allegan county Transportation service delivery and programming.
**Required Education and Experience:**
* Associates degree in business administration, finance, transportation planning or logistics or related field.
* Three (3) years of transportation management experience or equivalent.
**Preferred Education and Experience:**
* Three (3) years of grant administration and financial services.
