The Vice President will oversee a large staff and manage a significant operating and capital budget. Strategic leadership and management are key, with a focus on driving financial resourcing and transformation initiatives, and serving on key internal committees. The role also involves optimizing budgeting and reporting processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and managing relationships with financial vendors and auditors.
Applicants for the Vice President of Finance position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in a financial leadership role within complex higher education or non-profit environments. A background in accounting or audit functions is strongly preferred. The candidate must have a strong understanding of strategic financial management, budgeting, and planning, as well as experience with enterprise financial systems. A CPA or MBA is required, and a CPA is strongly preferred. Personal characteristics should include sound judgment, emotional intelligence, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
