The successful candidate will be a strategic leader with a multi-stakeholder, business-driven mindset, and a strong background in public relations, particularly within the financial services or wealth management sector. Responsibilities for this role include defining and executing media strategies to promote the company's corporate strategy, brand, and client advocacy role. The VP will be expected to lead a team of public relations experts, manage relationships with top-tier and trade media, and act as the primary contact for the company's public relations agency. The role also involves creating and executing PR campaigns, including press releases, media pitching, and thought leadership activities, as well as managing crisis communications and executive visibility.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field, with a minimum of 15 years' experience in public relations. They should be an excellent storyteller and writer, with a proven track record in both reactive and proactive media relations. Experience in setting up and measuring the ROI of PR activities, as well as strong partnership skills and the ability to lead through influence and authority, are essential. The role requires a proactive individual who can anticipate and manage reputational risks, and who is adept at using data-driven insights to inform PR strategies. Public company experience and a background in managing outside PR agencies are preferred.
