Our client is a leading investment firm. They seek a VP, Tax to join their Santa Monica, CA office.

Responsibilities Understand legal and tax structures of 50+ portfolio companies and implications for the firm Mitigate tax risks and analyze proposed restructuring, acquisition, and sale transactions Work internally to ensure the understanding of each transaction is correct and accurate Review the portfolio company tax reporting to ensure it reflects the nuances of the transaction Help portfolio companies maintain their tax functions to ensure accurate tax reporting Review portfolio company P&L and tax returns to identify and implement tax efficiencies Assist portfolio company accounting teams and their third-party tax compliance providers Support portfolio company accounting teams to process federal/state tax regulatory queries Assess annual federal, state, and other returns for compliance with laws and regulations Liaise portfolio company accounting teams with managing and coordinating tax audits Requirements 7+ years of tax accounting experience Public (Big 4) or combo accounting background Strong partnership tax experience preferred Exposure to M&A preferred Internation experience is a plus CPA strongly preferred Job ID # 65879
