About the Role - This is a Service Contract Act (SCA) position.

HomeSafe Alliance is seeking highly skilled and motivated Alternative Transportation Coordinator to assist the Alternative Transportation department in all aspects of moving from origin to destination, using freight carriers and other alternative means, for those shipments that cannot be handled traditionally with moving vans.

Responsibilities / Duties:

Understands the financial details associated with a military shipment from revenue billed to how distribution of compensation is made to each service provider in order to support effective decision making.

Ensure the origin agent properly prepares the shipment for transport by alternative means and selects a destination agent to perform the delivery of the shipment to the service member.

Effectively assign shipments to alternative transportation service providers.

Continually monitor shipment progress as the alternative carrier transports the shipment from the origin agent to the destination agent.

Keep the destination agent and customer care dept. updated with shipment progress.

Assist the destination agent and customer care dept. in scheduling ultimate delivery out to the customer as needed.

Communicate information effectively to all agents.

Communicate operational information with military customer care representatives.

All related administrative duties as needed.

Qualification and Skills Requirements:

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

1+ year operations experience, with military relocation of household goods preferred.

Must be a U.S. citizen due to contractual requirements.

Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.

Knowledge of relevant computer applications (Microsoft 360).

Excellent written & verbal communication skills, patience, and empathy.

Proficient with basic computer skills.

Strong sense of urgency when dealing with issues.

High level of attention to detail.

Prefer 1+ year of HHG/Military transportation experience.

Note: This position is fully remote / work from home. HomeSafe will supply appropriate equipment, employee provided high speed internet is required.
