SUMMARY/JOB PURPOSE:
This role will be responsible for administering the Company's various employee benefits including life, health, dental, vision, Flexible Spending Reimbursement, 529 Savings Plan, Employee Assistance Plan and other employee related programs. This role will also provide administrative & operations support to the Human Resources department, contribute to creating and maintaining efficient work processes, systems and programs. Provide professional level of Human Resources background and experience to carry out responsibilities in a variety of human resources areas. Develop and participate in HR projects to accomplish HR initiatives that are aligned with business objectives.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
Works with all benefits related third party vendors including contract negotiation, benefits administration and service levels; including but not limited to medical claims administration, dental claims administration, life insurance and disability vendors.
Assist with annual benefits renewal and conduct open enrollment.
Resolve discrepancies/questions/issues with employees (including questions via HR ticketing system), carriers and broker of record.
Develop, communicate and implement high quality employee benefits to ensure optimal plan design and administration.
Reviews, audits and verifies employee information processed by ensuring data integrity with the processing and reporting of benefits data, including new hire, open enrollment, qualifying events, and termination processing.
Assist with the design and implementation of new and/or enhanced benefit programs.
Ensure all benefit plans are in compliance with all current federal and state regulations/guidelines including government reporting, participant disclosures (5500s, SMMs, HIPAA, SPDs, etc.) along with completing the Non-Discrimination Testing of the FSA and 401k plans.
Liaison to payroll to ensure that all benefits deductions (medical, dental, STD, LTD, Life) flow to payroll deduction fields, including mid-pay period deductions when necessary.
Counsels and advises employees on eligibility for benefit programs and assists in resolving issues with insurance carriers.
Updates Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) with benefit changes, maintains employee benefit files and other related record keeping systems.
Reconciles and processes monthly billing statements for health insurance plans.
Liaise with the Company's Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) administrator to provide updates on terminated employees, reconciling monthly payments and ensure carriers provide appropriate COBRA information to former employees.
Updates Internal Company website with appropriate benefit information as needed and assists in the implementation of external web-based employee benefits systems.
Manage labor law posters (onsite and electronic).
Manage electronic personnel files, ensuring all files are audited, accurate, complete, accounted for, filed correctly and updated after any change.
Ensure shared folders have the latest information in a well-organized and efficient format, and out-of-date information is appropriately placed in archives.
Open and track all Purchase Orders (PO) needed for the Benefits team.
Complies with all company health & safety policies and procedures.
Performs other HR duties as needed including special projects as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Education/Experience:
AA degree in related discipline and at least five years of related experience; or
BS/BA degree in related discipline and at least two years of related experience; or
May require certification in assigned area.
Experience/The Ideal for Successful Entry into Job:
Prior experience working in benefits is required.
Experience with online benefits tools is required, preferably WorkDay.
Knowledge/Skills:
Organizes and prioritizes numerous tasks and completes them under time constraints.
Applies technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
Demonstrated success in problem solving.
Experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization.
Applies strong analytical and business communication skills.
Must be able to operate in a changing environment and be able to manage ambiguity.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
Strong PC skills with advanced level required, including MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), and HRIS (ADP and WorkDay a plus) experience required.
Strong planning, organizing, teamwork, and results orientation required.
