POSITION SUMMARY: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Surgical Technologist. In this role, the successful candidate As a member of the healthcare team the OR tech provides direct and indirect patient care and performs technical rehabilitative and therapeutic nursing procedures and activities under the direct supervision of the registered professional nurse.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Exposure & handling of hazardous waste. Performs proper specimen handling according to guidelines from the laboratory. Universal precautions are observed and appropriate PPE utilized. Performs all the requirements of the Universal Protocol and Time Out in accordance with Hospital policy. Creates and maintains a sterile field. Reports any break in technique with proper follow-up. Performs other duties as aligned with the mission and values of the organization. Demonstrates personal accountability for own professional practice and professional growth. Promotes patient safety and quality including adherence to the National Patient Safety Goals. Communicates and collaborates effectively with members of the health care team escalating situations appropriately. Establishes effective caring relationships with staff patients families and other members of the health care team. Establishes priorities for patient care delivery and uses critical thinking skills coordinates and completes patient care responsibilities independently or by appropriately delegating. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical psychosocial educational safety and age related criteria pertinent to the patients served in his/her assigned area. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify you must have a High School Diploma Required. Graduate of an accredited OR Surgical Technician Training program CST required 1-3 years OR experience preferred..
